Many of us have been affected in some way, or know those affected by the Tantallon & Shelburne wildfires and like true Nova Scotians are looking for a way to help!
We will be “passing the hat” around during our matinee for cash donations to raise funds towards those impacted by the NS wildfires.
Rec Room Jams and Black Harbour Distillers have been working hard to offer an afternoon to get together and support our province here at the distillery. This Saturday from 1-4pm we will be gathered together to listen to some great local music, sip on cocktails ($1 from each limited edition cocktail will go towards funds), & enjoy some ice cream from Black Harbour Creamery ($1 from all sundaes will go towards fundraising).
So let’s get together to offer support & acknowledge the hard work being done by our community, on behalf of those living through this difficult wildfire. This event is occurring Saturday June 3rd from 1-4pm. Please note BHD & BHC will be fundraising onsite all day Saturday and Sunday if you can not make it during the matinee time!
Proceeds from the “pass the hat” fundraiser will go to the United Way Halifax Wildfire Recovery Appeal. This fund provides financial support to charitable organizations in Halifax and surrounding areas, including Shelburne and those impacted on the south shore, to meet the needs in their communities.
We are honoured to be welcoming reps & volunteers from the Black Point Community Centre’s Comfort Centre: Jayne Fryday: Councillor of District 13 Pam Lovelace: and a representative from the United Way Halifax Wildfire Recovery Fund.
We recommend reservations and can book through our website, additionally if you can not make it out this weekend and are looking to donate please check out United Way Halifax Wildfire Recovery Fund or send us a message to see how to help!
As always we are beyond proud to be in such a wonderful community and grateful to work with others in the community that are always looking out for one another
