    The winds off Nova Scotia are strong and consistent and provide the opportunity to harness this resource for our transition to clean energy with net zero emissions while creating a clean energy-based economy.

     Sheila Paterson, a chemical engineer with both public service and industrial experience, is Director of Strategic Priorities at the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables. She will provide observations from installed offshore wind in other countries, co-existence of offshore wind with other marine uses and a healthy marine environment. She will outline methods to participate in public engagement and the development opportunities associated with our joint federal-provincial managed offshore.
