  • Super Heroes United

    Through the Years Daycare and Community Centre. Superheroes United is a program for families of children with special needs. The group will focus on offering fun, unique opportunities for children (Superheroes!) to play while parents and caregivers can relax and chat about experiences, challenges and opportunities in a supportive environment.

    The Hubbards Barn Association is partnering with the Nova Scotia Truck Association for their annual Hubbards Barn Food Truck Rally. The trucks will supply the food and there will be a beer garden in the pavilion. Live local music. Cost is a donation of $2 at the entrance.

    Lordly Park, Chester. Join the Chester Rec Summer Staff at this exciting event for all ages! There will be parachute games, piñatas, a cake walk, bouncy castle and much more! Everyone is welcome to come to this afternoon of fun. Cost is $5 per child and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Rain date is Sunday July 14th.

  • Mackerel Snappers Picnic

    Graves Island Provincial Park. Come out and enjoy a mackerel dinner with grilled mackerel, new potatoes, old fashioned cukes and cream, tea/coffee/juice and of course a dessert of pie! There will be musical entertainment for the whole family, a merchandise wheel, lobster & scallop wheel, grocery wheel and a fish pond.  A canteen with a fry shack, hot dogs, pop and chips will also be available. Cost for this event is $12. Rain date is Sunday, July 14th.

  • World Tuna Flat Races

    Hubbards Community Waterfront Park, 11 am. Enter your business, association or find three friends and go for the gold. Teams of four race large “Tuna Flats” over a quarter mile course on Hubbards cove. Registration is $40 per team. There are men, women and youth divisions. Races start at noon. Beer tent, BBQ, free children’s activities and more. Stay tuned to the World Tuna Flat Races or HCWA Facebook page!

  • Seniors Old Fashioned Picnic
