Colin Millar is a Master Mariner and in his profession, he pilots some of the many vessels entering Halifax Harbour, from giant container ships to cruise ships such as the Queen Mary II, from sailing ships to submarines.  It takes three years of intensive training for an experienced Mariner to qualify as a Pilot, gaining expert knowledge of local harbour conditions, and the effects of tides, currents, wind and weather. Join us as Mr. Millar talks about his job, and some of the challenges he has encountered in the course of his work.
